Unseen and Twisted Questions - CBSE

How to go about the analysis of unseen/twisted questions?

  • Firstly, do not get flustered when you see such a question; maintain your calm.

  • Read the question properly twice, maybe even thrice and try and capture every aspect of it, i.e.- what the question is trying to say

  • Relate/Map the question with

  1. the appropriate/corresponding unit of the syllabus

  2. chapter of that unit, and then

  3. the portion/topic(s) in that chapter.

(to be done sequentially)

  • Now understand, what the question is asking, or exactly what all aspects/portions should be covered in the answer

How to practise for unseen/twisted questions?

  • Do not keep yourself restricted within the horizon of already attempted questions and/or papers, say in the case of Maths, do not only keep practising the same questions from the selected books repeatedly.

  • Instead, expose yourself to new questions and papers, by attempting mock papers, which could include the following:

  1. Past Year CBSE Board Papers (Delhi and Outside Delhi)

  2. Sample Papers provided by CBSE (will help you get a rough pattern/idea of the expected question paper) (available at http://www.cbse.nic.in/newsite/examination.html and other sources like https://mycbseguide.com/course/cbse-class-12/1250/ and http://www.tiwariacademy.com/cbse-sample-papers-class-12/)

  3. Sample Papers from reliable publishers and/or publishers with good papers (usually one gets to know about these through word of mouth). A recommendation – Together With, Pariksha Papers. Caution: Sample Papers from sources other than the official CBSE website, say U-Like and Shiv Das, are only meant to be used for practising questions, their solutions are not reliable, so kindly do not refer such books for solutions of Sample Papers (you may get the papers attempted by you checked with your teacher) or Past Year Papers (kindly use the official answer key for reference – http://www.cbse.nic.in/newsite/examination.html)

  4. Question Papers of other schools (preferably reputed schools with good papers)

  5. Unattempted assignments and question banks provided by your/other teacher(s)/tutor(s)
