CBSE Business Studies: An Overview

Basic Structure of the Course

There are 2 books (Principles and Functions of Management; Business Finance and Marketing), with a total of (8+4=) 12 chapters, which have been divided into 5 major units, each of whose weightage varies from 14-20 marks, thus, leaving no unit redundant or insignificant.

Refer to https://www.cbsesyllabus.in/class-12/business-studies-class-12-syllabus for the various topics covered under each chapter and the Blue Print (unit-wise marks distribution)

Few Chapter Specific Tips

  1. Give sufficient time to comprehensive chapters like Organising and Directing since they have a lot of content, and can be really confusing if not prepared well.

  2. The Trading on Equity Numerical is essential; kindly do practise the same at least once.

  3. One must know the definition of a consumer as per the Consumer Protection Act, as given in the book, word-to-word (since you are understanding the same as a legal term, wherein each term in the definition carries some meaning)

  4. Remember that NCERT is the Bible, thus, if you have been preparing from NCERT, you NEED NOT look into any other reference book for content. (for questions though, Yes, you may)
